The existing rear deck was unwelcoming and created an unsightly barrier between the house and rear yard. The new deck steps down to the yard with a tri-level design allowing easy for entry to the house, with an intimate private area for the recessed hot tub nestled in the existing arms of the house and a lower semi-private sitting area for summer cook outs. This design allows the owners to be just a few steps to the newly landscaped rear yard from the activity levels of the deck and provides a gentle transition from the interior living quarters to the green yard space. The owners were so inspired by the joyful transition celebrating the movement from exterior to interior, created by their new rear deck, that they also re-landscaped the front yard to be more inviting.
